Hoover High and Meredith Middle Schools

Meredith Drive Reformed Church is blessed to be in such close proximity to schools that impact the neighborhood around the Meredith Drive campus. Both Hoover High and Meredith Middle are schools that have seen a massive influx of refugee families who are new to the country.

Opportunities:
  • Partner with teachers through our in-class volunteer program
  • Partner with the school to provide meals for teachers, students, or sports teams
  • Help with one-time needs that arise within the communities of these two amazing schools

Summer Meal Meet-Ups

In partnership with Johnston Schools, we serve free, hot lunches to kids who might not have access to nutritional food options throughout the summer. If you have any interest in helping with the program, please contact us. Each daily shift, Monday-Friday lasts approximately one hour, and volunteers serve as their time allows. This program is an excellent opportunity for our church to be a blessing to our neighborhood, and we’re excited to see the ways God will use us to impact the kids and families around us.

*Due to COVID-19 our Summer Meal program is on pause.

Meals From TheHeartland

Meredith Drive hosts a packaging event once a year. Our entire congregation sets up at The Bridge campus to package meals. Some of our ministry areas also package meals at Meals form the Heartland. Meals form the Heartland is an organization made up of volunteers from businesses, schools, churches, community organizations and beyond, who package meals for delivery to malnourished people in Iowa, across the United States, and around the world. Your group can spend time packaging for MFTH.

Habitat For Humanity

We build because we believe that everyone, everywhere, should have a healthy, affordable place to call home. More than building homes, we build communities, we build hope and we build the opportunity for families to help themselves.

This fall we will begin building again. Please check back for details on build dates and times. You can click the link below to read safety precautions Habitat for Humanity has issued in response to safe building practices and protocals they have in place.
